Gosh, why does my internet have to be so unstable? ILEANA CAN'T LIVE SANS INTERNET. There. It's out there. I admit it, okay?

So I thought I'd talk about my trip(s) before I forgot it all...

February 15: Rode bus to Sheraton. Grabbed dinner at Burger King. My "gay cowboy" friends roomed together (they're not gay).
February 16: A workshop on managing time in college presented by director's wife. College tour = long bus ride back the way I came. Some rally that hated me because I was Asian, non-Christian, a woman, and yadda. Amusing. Dance at night... I think I can say that 90% people were black... Nothing against them, I just live in a very white town. A LOT of reggae and stuff going on that night. At least they did the techno thing too. Operation stay away grinding black guys from who knows where was in full swing XD. Watched the Lizze McGuire movie til way past midnight with me roomies.
February 17: Continental breakfast, college fair. Left early because one of the girls in our party was sick. BUT that gave us a little shopping time on the way home.

Then I left for TN... Talk bout that later...

February 5: I went to the last home game of the boy's hockey team. I had yet to attend a single hockey game, so there it was. Fans these days stand for the entire duration of the game, eh? Seriously, it wasn't THAT exciting. Ileana's standing in the back thinking, "SIT DOWN, PPLE! ARGH!" Whatever, that just tells you how much I know about sports.

Today was supposed to be a sleep in day! But nooo, I get a call from l-c at 8:15 telling me to be at some dodgeball tournament at 8:45. Turns out that people actually had to show up at 9:00, which is when everyone on our 'team' started trudging in. Then, we were short a player so our adviser asks one of the radio guys to join our team. We started off by playing the school who challenged us and won without losing a single player. Pretty good for a team randomly thrown together. We won the second round too, although I kinda fell hard on my @$$. L-c's lil bro was pretty good at the fastball thing and so was this other kid who was randomly recruited to join our team who I remembered playing dodgeball with in elementary school. Turns out that the radio guy was an excellent player too. Third round, we were playing a team consisting of policemen and rotc kids so we lost. Ileana was, however the last person standing. Champion dodger here *points at self*. Only problem with that is I can't throw... or catch. So imagine Ileana against four really athletic looking men. Somehow, two of them dropped my weak pathetic throws so it was me vs. two. I got hit soon after, but yay for putting on show. Then, some newspaper dude comes over and asks for my name. He turns on his camera and gives me a very short look at picture of me in mid air, leg out and all. We lost the next round too, but yay for a morning's fun.

That compu guy took waaaaaay too long to fix me compu. The problem wasn't even that serious! I knew enough to know that it was simple but not enough to actually fix it... haha...

Where was I? Florida? Ah, yes...

November 8: Left school at 2AM. After much busing around, waiting, flying, and watching in flight TV, we arrive at Orlando at noon. Of course, a warm spell hits our town right after we leave, but we get the pleasure of seeing palm trees. We get dropped off at the Disney All-Star Music resort an hour later and proceed to our rooms in the Rock Inn. An hour later, we finally get to Animal Kingdom, the only theme park we had yet to visit. I don't even remember what we did. We saw Lion King. Between singers, acrobats, dancers, and big fake animals, that's as good as stage productions get. Went on some dinosaur ride. Can't say too much bout that b/c I kept my eyes shut. A cheesy dino coaster. Grabbed dinner at some grill place. Then, we bumped into some fellow bandmates who said that Mt. Everest had reopened. We make a mad dash towards it and got to ride it three times. My roommates and I even chipped in and got a nice pic.

November 9: After grabbing a very delayed breakfast of basically nothing, we head off to Magic Kingdom, THE park. Went on all the cool with my roomies. They're basically the only people I talked to on the whole trip. It's an odd feeling of wanting to be isolated while vacationing. I really didn't feel like going around with a big mob of people and being social. I got a pair of princess mouse ears and a potc canvas bag. Hot dog for lunch. A little after noon, we headed over to MGM. My fwend and I went on the Rock n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror so many times that she got sick =( Pizza for dinner. We somehow got reserved seats to the Fantasma show, which is something that is very hard to get into.

November 10: Our room headed to Magic Kingdom (again). Went on POTC, saw Mickey's 3D show, did other schtuff. Chicken caesar salad for lunch. Then we went to Typhoon Lagoon. Then to Epcot. This is the part when Ileana starts to feel sick. Being the wild card I am, I insisted on going on all the thrillers before grabbing dinner. By this time, it was only me and one other friend in our group. BTW, that soarin' ride kicks @$$. We grabbed dinner and ran to see the light show at night while sitting on a curb. We threw our tray on a random trash can and ran to see the cultural part of Epcot. We grabbed some French pastry and Pocky for the friend who was ill and literally sprinted back to meet the rest of our group. By that time, flat footed moi was literally limping. We got back to the room before everyone else and threw a mini surprise party.

November 11: Rehearsed with solo baritone player, then Downtown Disney. Disney Quest is quite interesting... The friend who was sick and I designed our own roller coaster and got to ride it. Lunch @ Planet Hollywood, picked up candy apples for my sister. One was white chocolate w/reese's pieces, one caramel w/ m&ms. Regrouped, then performed at downtown disney. Get back to room, get Alfredo Fettuccini from the Intermission Food Court for dinner. Roam in the gift shop for an hour or two. Got me a September Minnie necklace, an identical red one and an anklet for me sis. 1 postcard, one tinkerbell photo frame, a rubber donald duckie, yadda. Our whole room does some last minute packing and end up being the last to finish.

November 12: Get up at 2AM after approx. 2 h of sleep and leave for home.

PS Terra blue chips rocks!

***NEED TO RUN TO CONCERT, WILL FINISH POST XD*** Finished December 24, 2006

So, how was everyone's Halloween? Candylicious? Scary? Mine was the best I've had in a while. No, I didn't trick or treating although I've never been. My sis did though and she came back with more than enough candy for the two of us. My fwend and I were short on time and happened to both have old witch costumes lying around our house... so we were kind like twin witches. We happen to share the same name too. The night of the Halloween dance was rather rocky because I had to get out of work early. My rents were somehow in a very, VERY foul mood and were b!tching at me unlike anything I've ever tolerated. It's understandable if I did something to provoke such an attack, but none of my mistakes in life have ever been slammed in such a way. It was just absolutely spontaneous and unlike anything I'd ever seen in real life or movies. I stayed calm, which usually cools things off, but this kept raging until I walked out and didn't go away after I returned. A week or so later, they're (my rents) are acting completely normal, like me, but jeeze, it was only the most degrading thing I've ever experienced. No exaggeration, people!

To finish the night off, the one person I really, really wanted to be at the dance was no where to be seen. To miss it was completely uncharacteristic of this person's traits, being really enthusiastic about costumes and having been in attendance of all school events, including the previous night's football game. I had a chance at homecoming, I could tell... But alas, I turned it down. Regret sucks, and I know that the remainder of the school year is littered with formal events that I usually do not take part in.

Despite having a very sucky Halloween weekend, Halloween itself (Tuesday) was a blast. The show was Halloween themed it and was a blast. Think bones, scary feet, voice overs, frankenstein, floating puppets, and a witch's chant from Macbeth Act 4. Then my sis hauled all the candy in and YESH!

I stayed at a Buddhist retreat around the 18th... was touring colleges and our group, short of funding, got to stay at a Buddhist retreat. I really didn't know what to expect, but we were all delighted. It was so tranquil and unique.

TO DISNEY ON THE 8th! GO BAND TRIPS! Everyone's so excited, I was spending quality time with my to-be-roomies before the band concert on the 2nd... It's just like Cancun, I know of what's happening but I don't really think of it as reality until it hits me in the face, like now. Buh-buy freezing days, hello sunshine!

Speaking of... so me, my sis, and my grandrents were playing a game and I was playing music in the background. I was playing a mix and my grandrents, of course, knew none of the songs. Then the last songs comes on and it happens to be the national anthem of the Russian Federation... because I'm weird like that. Next thing you know, my grandmother is heartily singing along. Yeah, heartily singing. Then my grandfather joins in. Quite odd. Turns out that it was something that was commonly taught back when they were in school.

Can't say the same for me.

I have decided to look for new sheet music for this year... How did I not know that Henry Purcell was a real guy? There's a track on the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack called A Postcard to Henry Purcell but I somehow thought that was a character in the movie. Nope, turns out to be a famous English Baroque composer. Turns out that the above mentioned track is based on one of his works called Festival Rondeau.

I visited the local music store that I completely forgot exhisted. Got a huge 100 song book full of oldies. 10% discount too. =)

Speaking of music... Does anyone know what this song is? I stumbled upon this random person's blog while researching Tsubasa.

Found my favorite nail polish color again! A deep, royal red color that's not sickly dark. Just thought I'd point that out.

Skulking amidst the cliffs, attacking with a sharpened screwdriver, cometh ileanadubaer! And she gives a low cry:

Um... yeah, feel intimidated now? I'd personally say, "FOR CAMELOT!"... or maybe "FOR FRODO!"

Okay... yeah, the summer program's over and life's normal again. In this case, summer = bland and uninteresting. It's weird to not have a purpose to get up out of bed.

Top Moments:

~ Chilling and doing powerpoints on the last Wednesday

~ Revealing the whole Brokeback scheme <=== Long story

~ The ride back from the last dance

~ Getting a surprise hug

~ Passing notes on a field trip.

~ Oh, and winning that SOCCER thing.

I just saw Pirates 2... again. My sister somehow managed to not catch it while she was off vacationing. My grandparents were away and didn't get back in time so me, her, and my buddy walked to the theater in extreme heat and humidity. I definitely got a lot more the second time... I won't spoil it though ;)

I read this article in TIME that talked about how special effects never make anyone laugh. PotC2 was really funny, but the humor was imbedded in simple stuff, like tripping. Falling. That kind of stuff. Then it talked about how Charlie Chaplin once said that all he needed to make a comedy was a park, a cane, and a pretty woman... or something like that. Tis true! None of the bling bling effects and action make the audience go HAHAHAHAHA.

Hm. I'm off.

Teehee. Our summer class won this soccer tournament.

^________________________________^

GO TEAMWORK! It must have been the only time I've ever truly enjoyed playing a team sport. Moi and my awesome defense that involved me toppling over a girl. Got the grass stains on my pants to prove it too. Down goes the team that was the favorite and the other team that beat us in volleyball. It must have been my I Glomp For Pocky shirt that I finally got to debut and use to get the whole team wearing BLANC.

I saw Pirates and Click on Sunday. Laughed my butt off in the first, got a good life booster from the second. I'd recommend both on DVD.

I <3 Portuguese class. We are in the proccess of learning the Forro. We lightly touched on Cabala? <--- can't spell it. The martial arts thingy. Quite cool, I must say. The other two classes are blah-ish.

So after our awesome soccer games, Ileana had to take a nice shower. There was this girl who felt stuck the bathroom because a supervisor of the male variety was doing hall duty. I somehow agreed to distract said supervisor, twas quite funny. Think random comments about books and such. Girl dashes across hallway. Ileana retreats back into bathroom. Gawd, only crazy people like me would pull stuff like that off.

Later <3

Presenting... my kick butt bishonen collage!

COLLAGE )

Cancun is paradise. I am now extremely fond of Mexico. All-Inclusive = Unlimited food, drink, tours, use of facilities, and yadda. Highlights include becoming a member, Wet'n Wild, Tulum, Kitchen Tour, $675 in free spa money, doing karaoke for a large audience, swim with dolphins, mini golf, the gift shop, and hanging out in one of Mexico's largest pools. I'd recommend the Moon Palace to anyone of any age. 10 restaurants. Many bars, including 4 that were swim up. Water sports. Cool shuttle buses to get you around the very big hotel grounds. *squeals*

World Cup: I don't have much interest in team sports of any kind, but I have always enjoyed following the World Cup avec mon pere. In fact, I like how unstable it can be. The First match that I watched was Argentina vs. Mexico in Cancun. Was rooting for Mexico (duh, I was in CANCUN) but the Argentinian team was strong. Next was the Portugal vs. Holland match. I wanted Holland to win because the Portuguese players kept faking injuries. And they were very, very sucky fakers. Portuegese guy trips over Holland guy, Portuegese guy rolls on ground and holds nose in agony. They just act like a big group of sissies if they can be injured so easily. Alas, Portugal won although Holland did played very well.

Here, my sis and I decided that any team we cheer for was doomed to lose. Thus we had to cheer for the wrong team. We decided to test our luck during the next match, Switzerland vs. Ukraine. Initially, we really didn't care about either because... well, we are indifferent towards both. Then, my dad points out that Ukraine was part of the Former Soviet Union, which had great ties with his home country. I, however, went with Ukraine because I'm Russia-phile and Russia isn't a very big soccer country, so why not Ukraine? They were once one and the same. However, it was a rather boring game until the penalty shootout. That's when they zoom in on the goalies a lot. Twas the moment when my sis and I determined that Ukraine's goalie was TRES HAWT. You can't really look him up because all you find are pictures of him during a save in mid-air. The good shots are all in videos:screencap )

Good goalie too. I'd take him over David Beckham any day. Almost knocked Johnny Weir off the top of my 'favorite athletes' list. The Swiss guy kept jumping in the wrong direction which was probably what costed the game. This guy was always right on. Switzerland completely missed one shot but the other two were caught by said goalie. Anyways, by pretend rooting for Switzerland, we got Ukraine into the quarter finals where they was flattened by Italy. Of the eight teams, they were most obviously the underdogs. But making the quarter finals on a 'maiden world cup trip'? Yeah, nothing to complain about there.

England lost to Portugal. Yeah yeah, don't care. Brazil lost to France. HA! GO FRANCE! Serves those overconfident Brazilians right. Not that I have anything against Brazil, mind you. It's just that I hate the idea of favoritism. I think it ruins the competition. For example, the Oscars become really boring because the favorites win more often than not. It's also bland when the same person/team wins over and over again. I like the unexpected. France did play a good game though and I hope they win against the faking Portuguese men.

Happy Birthday to Johnny Weir!

As you've all heard, Ileana is leaving for Cancun in less than 12 hours. It doesn't really feel like it at all. I remember when I was little back in elementary school. I'd feel all excited when school was about to be over. There would be this huge count down and built up excitement. In fact, this applied for every big event in my life. Now, everything just slides. Nothing seems real. The week of finals this year was all bland and it didn't feel AT ALL like the end of a school year. Same with this trip. I'm sitting at work today thinking, "Now when was I leaving again? Two days, right? OH GAWD in less than a day!" I know for a fact that my rents don't feel this way, they are like me back in elementary school. Always prepared, always anticipating. They started packing really early and urged us to do so too. Moi? Yeah, reality just doesn't get to me these days. I can't imagine myself not being home tomorrow. I can't see me being x miles away at this time tomorrow. Feel free to leave me some love while I'm gone.

It seems that most of the people I know have birthdays in June. One my friend's was on the last day of school and I completely forgot. I remembered the day before but knowing moi, I was doing some last minute work that should have been turned in months ago and her birthday just slipped my mind. At least I remembered in time to send her an e-card.

My grandmother's was soon after, which I remembered but my mum told me the wrong day of the week so I almost didn't finish her cake in time and had to get her presents last minute. I like to be practical, so I got her two spools of white thread, elastic, kit kat bars, chocolate, chapstick, soap, mints, and got my sister a sun catcher to paint. You know, like a nice care kit.

One of my friend's is next week and I have already promised to give her pickles and maple syrup... perhaps a few surprises. Another's is the week after and I have been slaving over his present for the past three days... mmhm. It involves a lot of... uh, fine work and concentration. It also required me to use a certain household appliance that hadn't been touched for years in our house.

I have, however, send all the e-cards I need to send... thank Zeus for the "arrange sending date" option. Just set them up and they'll appear in the recepient's inbox on the correct day. YES.

I actually have a funny work story for once. I was waiting on a table of three, the mom, her son, and a mentally challenged guy. I was taking this table's order when the son goes, "Mom! That car across the street just crashed into the side of ours!"

His mom: Okay then. Go across the street and get their license number and insurance information.

Son: *runs out*

His mom: *calmy finished order* Now, if you will excuse me, I need to go take care of some business across the street. I'll be back.

Moi: *is left to deal with the mentally challenged guy*

NOTE: I don't mind mentally challenged people, but this guy looked like he was bleeding in the head.

Off to play cards, work, and finish birthday presents. *salutes*
